Juvaderm | Juvederm: Why We Need It
Age, face wrinkles and Juvaderm - these are some of the most commonly mentioned items when both men and ladies, conscious of the need to keep young, meet up for social gatherings. It is well known that with time and exposure to the sun and other elements the skin components tend to break down, with loss of normal tissue under the skin such as hyaluronic acid, collagen and elastin and fat. Add to that the effect of gravity and the consequences of living it up such as smoking, drinking and late nights. With this loss of volume beneath the skin, wrinkles form, especially on the face. These face wrinkles are one of the first few things occurring on the face that make you look and feel old. Face wrinkles are also referred to as folds, creases, fine lines and troughs.
Another cause of face wrinkles is the effect of habitual contraction of the facial muscles. Initially the wrinkles that are formed are known as dynamic wrinkles, as they are formed by action of these muscles, but disappear upon relaxation of the muscles. With time, however, as well as prolonged and habitual contractions, the face wrinkles that are formed become permanent and remain even when the facial muscles are relaxed. These wrinkles are now called static wrinkles.
Another way by which wrinkles are formed is your sleeping position. The skin of the face tends to get squashed or crumpled due to sleeping position, and the face wrinkles formed become permanent.
Where do wrinkles occur on the face? The following is a list of the most common of face wrinkles.
The forehead lines.
The crows feet.
The frown lines.
The nasolabial folds
The marionette lines
Tear troughs
Vertical lip lines
How does one correct for these face wrinkles?
One of the most popular methods is by the introduction of injectable facial fillers under the skin at the site of the wrinkles, thus raising the wrinkle to be flush with the rest of the skin. The method replaces the lost volume of the subcutaneous component of the skin. One of the most popular of fillers used these days is Juvaderm, also correctly known as Juvederm, or Juviderm. Juvederm or Juvaderm is made of hyaluronic acid (which is a natural component of skin), and it is specially formulated by a process of cross linkage to last longer in the human body after injection, roughly about 1 year. Juvaderm is a very safe product and has been approved by the FDA for usage as a face filler to correct face wrinkles.
